| FIGURES 1 & 2. The bird was a small Selasphorus-like adult male hummingbird with a medium-short black bill. The gorget was solidly feathered and a blend of orange iridescent feathers below the bill changing to rose iridescent feathers along outer edge. These outer rose feathers were narrow in width and quite pointed. The lower edge of gorget was shorter in the center and longer at outer corners forming an almost tail-like gorget appearance. Cheeks were rufous. | |
